The Good Wolf Wins: Prioritizing Thoughts and Actions
In a Cherokee legend, a grandfather shares deep wisdom with his grandson in an important life lesson we can all learn from. He says:
“Grandson, inside me there’s a battle going on between two wolves. One wolf is evil. He represents regret, resentment and anger. The other wolf is good. He represents love and joy and contribution. And that battle is not only going on inside of me, it is going on inside of you and every other person.”
The grandson asks, “Well, which wolf will win the battle.”
The grandfather replies, “Whichever one you feed.”
This principle applies to business and all areas of life, including relationships, daily habits, and more. Where are you feeding the bad wolf? Where are you feeding the good wolf?
The Freedom of Choice Is Empowering
When you take responsibility for thought patterns and actions, it brings freedom of choice because you learn how to manage which wolf you want to feed.
If you are caught in a pattern of feeding the bad wolf, it breeds a victim mindset. The inner critic comes forward, and it’s easier to slip into a space of feeling judgmental about other people. This wolf represents anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem.
But you can cut off the food supply to this wolf and instead start putting your energy on healthier, uplifting thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Shift your focus in this way, and it starts to bring momentum into your life.
As you let go of the negative thoughts and feed empowering thoughts instead, this new way of thinking feeds into better habits and optimal results. You feel more peace, hope, love, compassion, and joy. True happiness shows up, which contributes to better results in business, relationships, and more.
Which Wolf Are You Feeding?
Get clear on the way your thoughts and actions are contributing to negative or positive patterns that are leading to the business results you are achieving. Evaluate how you are spending your time and prioritizing your day.
The more awareness you bring to how these results add up over time, the more empowered you can be to make the necessary changes that create the results you desire in business and life.
What Are You Choosing?
It can be challenging to take responsibility for our thought patterns. But these shifts in thinking have an undeniable impact on bringing the long-term results you desire.
