A Moment of Clarity

Not long ago, I had a moment of clarity.

It happened in the middle of an old, familiar fear loop—the kind that’s subtle but powerful.

Here’s the setup:
Someone challenges a decision I made.
“Why did you do that?” they say. “Why didn’t you do this instead?”

Except—here’s the thing.

That rarely, if ever, actually happens.
But the fear that it might?
That’s enough to shape how I move.

I’d preemptively brace for it.
Run imagined arguments in my head.
Try to justify choices I hadn’t even been questioned about.
Or worse—preemptively agree with the judgment.
Maybe I am incompetent.
Maybe I should have seen that better option.

That kind of fear doesn’t need to be real.
It just needs to be believable.
And it was.

Until this moment of clarity landed:
“That option didn’t show up for me.”

Not a defense.
Not an excuse.
Just the truth.

Because our minds don’t give us every option.
They serve up what’s familiar.
What seems safe.
What fits within the boundaries of how we’ve been trained to see.

Fear narrows the field.
And from that narrowed place, we make the best choice we can.
But then—we carry the shame of what we didn’t see.

That’s the trap.
Not just being constrained, but blaming ourselves for being constrained.

This is why I don’t coach people to just “make better decisions.”
I help them create the conditions for clarity.
So more possibilities become available.
So they’re not just reacting—they’re choosing.

One outcome of this work is moments like the one I had.
Moments when something hidden becomes visible.
When the pattern breaks, and freedom opens.

That’s how breakthroughs begin.

If you’re navigating a situation where you want more power, more space, more choice—
Let’s explore it together.

Your first clarity call is on the house.
